The countdown is on- nursing facilities enrolled as MassHealth providers are required to complete additional MDS fields next week.
Effective October 1, 2021, MassHealth will require nursing facilities to complete:
- Items GG0130 and GG0170
- Item I0020, including I0020B
- Item J2000
- Item J2100
- If response to Item J2100 is ‘Yes’, then Items J2300 – J5000 must be completed
Providers should prepare by verifying software setup meets new requirements for entry and transmission on OBRA assessments; and examining their interdisciplinary team’s knowledge of assessing and coding Section GG.
